About The Role

The role of the Disability Support Worker is to work with clients who reside within accommodations provided our within their own accommodation.  You will work closely with multiple clients, developing rapport and forming a lasting, meaningful professional relationship with them. You will work within the NDIS funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals, increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living.

Key duties include

Assistance with ADL’s such as toileting, showering, dressing, cooking and cleaning.

Providing individual support to clients with psychosocial requirements.

Assisting clients with social outings, shopping trips and appointments. 

Liaising with the families and representatives of your client as required.

Promoting positive behaviours, learning experiences and skill development.

Within this role you will either workday shifts or afternoon shifts, which may include 8 hours of paid sleep. The more shifts you have availability for, the more roles we can consider you for.

Skills & Experience

The role of the Disability Support Worker is to work with clients who reside within accommodations provided our within their own accommodation.  You will work closely withThe ideal candidate will pride themselves on their ability to deliver person-centered care that values the choice and goals of the client. They will have the people skills to build and maintain meaningful, lasting relationships with their clients. They will also work closely with their fellow support workers at the house, as well as your coordinator, to maintain accurate progress notes and reports, develop individualised care plans and problem solve for issues that develop within the house. multiple clients, developing rapport and forming a lasting, meaningful professional relationship with them. You will work within the NDIS funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals, increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living.

As well as the above skills, the Key Requirements include:

Possess or willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check.

WA Working With Children Check is desirable but not essential.

Full Australian working rights.

Valid West Australian driver's license and a reliable vehicle.

Previous experience as a support worker in the health/disability sector or a relevant Cert III qualification is highly desirable but not essential.

Previous experience working with clients who live with mental health issues will be highly regarded.
